The Collaboration Lab

The Collaboration Lab is a structured collaboration and learning program that brings together Dutch and international entrepreneurs to work on concrete projects, exchange expertise, and strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. The program is is designed to transform diversity into a practical driver for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable economic participation.

The Collaboration Lab is designed by The International Entrepreneurs Collective and funded by the Living In Program from Holland Expat Center.

A Structured Program for Cross Cultural Entrepreneurship and Ecosystem Development

Cities such as Eindhoven attract a growing number of international professionals who choose entrepreneurship as a pathway to economic participation and long term settlement. At the same time, Dutch entrepreneurs and professionals hold essential local knowledge, networks, and experience that are critical for building viable initiatives.

Despite this complementary potential, meaningful collaboration between local and international entrepreneurs often remains limited. Differences in networks, time constraints, working styles, and lack of shared structure frequently prevent collaboration from moving beyond informal exchanges. The Collaboration Lab addresses this gap by creating a structured environment where Dutch and international entrepreneurs collaborate as equal partners on concrete initiatives.

Why Structured Collaboration Matter

Collaboration does not happen automatically.

Without structure, collaboration often remains superficial. Conversations take place, ideas are exchanged, but shared initiatives rarely move forward. Roles remain unclear, commitment fades, and learning stays implicit.

The Collaboration Lab introduces structure, shared tools, and a defined timeframe to ensure that collaboration leads to tangible outcomes. Central to this approach is project based collaboration. Each team works toward a concrete, testable project that anchors effort, clarifies contribution, and creates accountability.

How The Collaboration Lab Works

The Collaboration Lab runs as a fixed-term program with a defined schedule and clear working structure. Each Lab runs from 9:30 to 12:30, followed by a shared lunch for participants.

Participants are grouped into small, mixed teams of Dutch and international entrepreneurs. Each team works on one shared project throughout the duration of the program.

The collaboration is structured around five facilitated Labs, each introducing tools and methods that teams apply directly to their project. Between Labs, teams can work independently to develop, test, and refine their ideas.

The program concludes with a public presentation, where teams present their projects and reflect on the collaboration process.

Each Lab session is guided by a different expert, selected for their relevant experience in collaboration, entrepreneurship, storytelling, and communication.

All Lab sessions take place at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, in Zaal M.

Sessions are conducted in English to ensure equal participation for all participants.

The Labs take place on February 24, March 12 and 26, April 13 and 23, from 9:30 to 12:30, and include a shared lunch.

The program concludes with a public presentation on May 18 from 10:00 to 12:00

Practical Details

The Collaboration Lab brings together Dutch and international entrepreneurs in a way that rarely happens in practice. For a fixed period, participants work closely on shared projects, exchange market insight, and test new forms of collaboration in a structured setting.

Places in the Lab are limited, and participation requires commitment to the full program. For Dutch entrepreneurs, this is a focused opportunity to engage with emerging international markets and collaborate beyond familiar networks. For international entrepreneurs, it is a structured entry point into the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
